This is my story… written and inspired by God. But this is actually the ‘wishful-thinking’ version. It should actually go something like this…
Once upon a time there was a girl who was really very average and often got bored with her life. She longed for adventure but often forgot that living was the biggest adventure of all. She was a writer who often had writer’s block, a dreamer who often couldn’t stay focused, a less-than-perfect sister, and a daughter of the King who often forgot how she looked in His eyes. Much of her time was spent trying to think of ideas and failing, or wasting time and lacking motivation. She was a homeschooled high schooler who often didn’t like school, and just couldn’t seem to have patience with her two amazing siblings and wonderful parents for more than ten minutes.
She loved to read, although often she preferred other books above the Bible. Most of all, she was a follower of Christ, and in spite of her shortcomings, desired to make Him the focus of her life for now and for always.
In short… I am a sinner. I don’t deserve Christ’s sacrifice and often wondered why he chose to gave it. The good news is, Jesus died for us while we were still sinners! He didn’t wait for us to be good enough, because in truth, we can never be good enough. So I’ve stopped trying and I just rely on Him to catch me when I fall and fail. Recently I’ve learned that the most important thing for me to do is to follow Jesus. I believe that once I’m following Him, my desires will naturally fall in line with His. I want to fall in love with Jesus… he is my superhero, my hope, my King… my savior. This is my story, as I go further up...and further in.
My God and Savior, growing in my faith, big fluffy clouds, reflections of clouds (especially in puddles and car windows), brainstorming, the smell of rain, a good book (especially if it’s new — I love the crisp pages), taking artistic photos, Crocs (’nuff said), shiny metal objects, notebooks, new pens, the sound of my fingers on the keyboard, blue skies, writing, graphic design, fancy fonts, butterflies, the mountains, lakes, peaceful atmospheres that allow for room to think, daydreaming, conversing with friends, English accents, Irish & Scottish brogues, stirring Celtic music, listening to an acoustic guitar being played, soft piano music, fast beats, watching chick-flicks with my mom and sister, newly sharpened pencils, dressing up in a cape, learning new things, receiving correspondence from friends, surprise packages, ripples in the water, leaves in the autumn, bird songs, pretty purple flowers, and my soft cat’s fur.
